I'm a prolific brand & type designer with 6 years of design experience living in the largest metropolis in West Africa, Lagos, Nigeria. With an engineering background having earned a Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering, I’ve seamlessly transitioned from the world of engineering into the creative realm of design.
Self-taught and deeply inspired, I’ve dedicated myself to crafting unique visual identities and typefaces for brands and individuals, always striving to reflect their core values and stories through design. When freelancing, I bring the meticulousness and structured approach of an agency into every project.
My design process is heavily influenced by my engineering background, emphasizing both creativity and functionality. This methodical approach ensures that every design I create not only looks stunning but also serves a purpose, solving problems and enhancing user experiences. From initial brainstorming to final execution, my work is a blend of innovation and practicality, tailored to meet the highest standards of design excellence.
In my six-year career, I’ve been fortunate to achieve remarkable milestones that underscore my dedication and expertise. My most recent achievement,
Ojuju, which is a commissioned typeface in collaboration with
Google Fonts, not to mention my role in various successful projects for notable clients like
HashApp,
Tremendoc and
Cardtonic, has established me as a top designer in the African creative space. My works aside serving as a source of reference and inspiration to the design community at large, has also been recognized with multiple features on design platforms and publications like
Behance,
Creative Notes,
Pimp My Type, etc.
I'm an ardent lover of African culture and I strongly believe the future of design is Africa. For this reason, I'm involved in community building and design learning. I've founded design communities like
Brand Street and
TypeAfrik which help designers of African descent grow in their brand and type design expertises respectively.
When I'm not in front of my work desk, you'll probably catch me on Twitter making silly banters or outside outdancing everyone at parties ;)
